The Executive Board of Nigeria Internet Registration Association has decided that a special Annual General Meeting of the Association should hold on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.  This information is a follow-up to the earlier announcements in the National Dailies to members on the scheduled AGM.

The need for a special AGM arises from the fact that NIRA’s financial year calendar has been changed from June 1 – May 31 to January 1 – December 31.  The change which came into effect from the last AGM has resulted in a 7-month breach of the financial year: June 1 – December 31, 2011.

The venue for the meeting is: 

The meeting will commence at 10.00 a.m. prompt.

1. To receive the Annual Report and Financial Statement for the period June 1 to December 31, 2011; together with the Auditors’ Report.

2. To receive a Business Plan and Budget for the period of the current financial year beginning January 1, 2012.

3. To consider such other business that any member properly brings before the meeting.

4. Special Business:

To approve the reviewed Constitution

In view of the foregoing, it is expected that Stakeholder Associations of NIRA should:

• Sensitize their members on this development in NIRA

• Meet their financial obligations to NIRA

• Galvanize their members to register as individual members of NIRA (Membership Forms can be downloaded from the website).
