About the Webinar
The Internet has become a significant part of our lives, and websites have become essential destinations for access to products and services. With so much going in today’s digital world, it is easy to take the Internet for granted. Imagine the Internet without domain names, for example. This would mean that when you need to check your email, update your social media status, or perform other routine activities on the web, instead of typing the site’s web address, you would need to type in a bunch of numbers such as 188.8.131.52 (Yahoo) or 184.108.40.206 (Facebook). Imagine having to do this every time you go online. It’s like dialling a phone number for every website you visit! Luckily, you don’t need to memorize a list of numbers because of the Domain Name System (DNS). With this elaborate naming structure in place, surfing the Internet has become much more straightforward. Maintaining this system requires specialized skills, and there is a global need for such skills.
