His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR presided over the Presidential Launch of the National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy (NCPS) at the State House, Abuja on the 23rd February 2021. The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Dr. Isa Pantami attended the presidential launch at the State House, Abuja.

The National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy 2021 will provide Nigerians with the necessary platform to effectively confront the dynamic nature of threats in Nigeria cyberspace. During the launch of the NCPS 2021, the President urged the National Security Adviser to continue to coordinate the efforts of all stakeholders to ensure that the Internet and Nigeria cyberspace are used for the enhancement of national security and economic progression. 

Mr. Muhammed Rudman, the President of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) had served as a stakeholder in the committee that reviewed the 2014 NCPS to produce the NCPS 2021.

As all are aware, NiRA is the Registry for .ng Internet Domain Names and maintains the database of names registered in the  .ng country code Top Level Domain. NiRA is a Not-for-Profit, Non-Governmental Self-Regulating body and managers of the .ng national resource, the country code Top Level Domain(ccTLD) namespace in the public interest of Nigeria and global internet communities.

In the interest and safety of Nigeria and Nigerian businesses NiRA encourages all Nigerians to use the .ng domain name for their websites and email addresses.
