At NiRA, strengthening partnerships with our accredited registrars remains one of the most important pillars of our work. NiRA accredited registrars serve as a vital link between the registry and the end users, acting as our ears and eyes in communicating and promoting the .ng domain brand. They help everyday users, businesses, startups, and institutions register and manage their .ng domain names and are often the first point of contact for customers entering the Nigerian digital space.
The growth and success of the .ng domain is deeply rooted in these partnerships. It’s why we launched our Registrar Engagement Initiative, now in its third year, which goes beyond our bi-annual Registrar Forum and engages registrars directly, one-on-one.
A Hands-On Approach to Collaboration
This initiative allows us to sit down with accredited registrars across all performance tiers to:
- Acknowledge their contributions
- Identify and solve operational challenges
- Explore new ideas and strategies
- Strengthen mutual trust and communication
It’s all about creating a more responsive, connected, and collaborative .ng ecosystem not just at the national level, but also within local communities across the country.
As part of our Q3 Registrar Engagement, the NiRA team, led by Registrar Relationship Manager; Bimbo Aderibigbe, was in Jos to engage with Smart Web, one of our top 5 performing registrars.
We had a full day of discussions with their Chief Operating Officer, members of the technical department, and the customer care unit. Together, we exchanged feedback, shared insights, and reviewed the performance of the .ng domain within their customer base.
🔍 Key Engagement Highlights:
- In-depth review of current .ng domain registration trends and growth
- Productive conversations around innovations to improve user onboarding and experience
- Collaboration on ideas to expand local adoption of the .ng domain
- Feedback on tools and support registrars need to thrive
These engagements are not just meetings, they’re opportunities to listen, learn, and co-create solutions that benefit both the registrars and the entire .ng ecosystem.
If you run a tech-driven business, a digital service company, or a web hosting platform, becoming an accredited registrar gives you the chance to:
- Sell and manage .ng domains as an official partner
- Offer a full suite of digital services to your clients
- Earn revenue from registrations, renewals, and value-added services
- Build credibility and be part of a trusted national ecosystem
It’s also a chance to work alongside a community that is pushing Nigeria’s digital identity forward, with real impact, local relevance, and global reach.
