A Presidential Note of Reflection

NiRA President

Dear Esteemed Members and Stakeholders,
It is often said that a nation’s strength lies in the resources it builds for itself. For Nigeria, one of the most enduring of these is the .ng domain—our national digital identity and a cornerstone of our collective digital future.

The .ng domain is more than technical infrastructure; it is a shared national asset that empowers innovation, safeguards our online presence, and fuels economic growth. It reflects Nigeria’s voice in the global digital space and belongs to every Nigerian.

At the heart of our Association is you—our members. Your commitment, engagement, and shared vision continue to shape the future of the .ng domain. Together, we are working to ensure it plays a transformative role in Nigeria’s digital journey. I urge each of us to remain steadfast in this mission.

NiRA remains deeply committed to advancing and protecting the .ng domain as a trusted and strategic element of our national internet infrastructure. Our actions are guided by the values of accountability, innovation, and collective responsibility.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the NiRA Secretariat for their unwavering dedication and operational excellence. Their tireless efforts remain vital to the success of our mission.

This April marked a significant milestone as we successfully conducted the 2025 Elections to fill vacant positions on our Board. I commend the Election Committee for their diligence and professionalism in ensuring a smooth, transparent, and credible process.

As you are aware, the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was adjourned to 28th May 2025 due to lack of quorum. I urge all members to prioritize attendance at the reconvened virtual AGM. Key deliberations—including the formal announcement of the election results—will take place, and your active participation is essential to the governance of our Association.

We also welcomed Mrs. Seyi Onasanya this month as NiRA’snew Chief Operating Officer. Her appointment reflects our commitment to strengthening operational capacity and scaling our impact within Nigeria’s internet ecosystem.

Let us remain focused on building a digital future that serves all Nigerians and upholds the .ng as a resilient, inclusive, and trusted national resource.

Thank you, as always, for your continued trust and partnership.

Adesola Akinsanya
President, Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA)
