HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE .ng INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2024

In celebration of International Women’s Day 2024, .ng hosted a Twitter Spaces event on March 13th 2024, with the topic “Innovating for Inclusion: Recognizing Women’s Influence in Tech Innovation”. The Twitter (X) Spaces event aimed to celebrate and recognize the significant contributions of women in the tech and ICT industry, fostering gender equality and empowerment while providing valuable insights, inspiration, and networking opportunities for participants.

Led by moderator Oluwatoni Peter, the event featured discussions with esteemed speakers, including Ized Uanikhehi; Growth Marketer and Founder of Zedi Africa, Blessing Abeng; Branding and Communications Expert; Chisom Nwokwu; Software Engineer at Microsoft, and Tinuade Oguntuyi; IT and Network Infrastructure Professional. Topics covered during the event included the importance of celebrating women’s success in driving gender equality, debunking stereotypes and discrimination against women in tech, and actionable steps to achieve gender parity.

Each speaker provided valuable insights and actionable steps to bring about the change needed to promote gender equality and empowerment in the tech industry. The recorded event remains available on our Twitter page, allowing our community to access the discussions and insights shared.

Moreover, the event also served as an introduction to the .ng domain brand, showcasing its role as a stakeholder and leader in addressing social issues within the digital space. Participants gained valuable insights into the benefits of using the .ng domain, learned about the structure of NiRA, and discovered how to acquire and utilize a .ng domain, further enhancing brand recognition and its significance in the Nigerian internet community.
