More and more Nigerians are getting on the .ng train, and this is exciting! Many Nigerian businesses now proudly use their .ng domain names as business identities. More registered domains names mean that the per unit cost of registering domain names will be lower, so NIRA can afford to make the domains even more affordable.
The NIRA Executive Board wants all Nigerians to be able to register and use the .name.ng string, even in conjuction with their existing Free or Paid email services. The Board has specially consented to making .name.ng domain names to be very affordable, at a price not more than N500. Yes – Five Hundred Naira per domain. The prices of all domain strings are now reduced, to get more Nigerians on board.
In the coming days, as more registrars update their platforms, you will notice the price reduction reflecting on the purchase of .ng domain names that you make. You can also share this good news with friends and associates. I encourage all to take advantage of the reduced pricing structure, to get your .ng domain names.
Domain Names and IP Addresses work in perfect harmony. This is the reason why the NIRA Academy, on behalf of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) and The University of Ibadan all in partnership with Africa Network Information Center (AfriNIC), is organizing a five day International Workshop on Internet Number Resources Management (INRM) and IPv6 Planning and Deployment.
The training will hold from Monday 22nd August to Friday 26th August, 2016. The IPv6 Training courses are IPv6 Forum Certified and would be taught by IPv6 Forum Certified (Gold) engineers and trainers. Please take advantage of this training, or recommend it to those who will need it. I have no doubt that the workshop would help foster the penetration of IPv6 in this Region.
