NITDA ORGANIZED STARTUP NIGERIA EVENT IN LAGOS

On Saturday 19th August 2017 at Admiralty Conference Center, Naval Dockyard Complex, Lagos, The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) through the Office for ICT Innovation & Entrepreneurship (OIIE), a subsidiary of NITDA, nurturing, cultivating & expanding ICT innovation & entrepreneurship held the Nigeria startup to promote and support Nigeria startups which has adopted Information Communication Technology (ICT) to drive their businesses.

At the event some short-listed startups pitched to showcase their products to the audience and judges were on hand to access the viability of the products.

Amongst the startups that showcased their products, three (3) of these were selected by the judges as winners. The startup named Beat Drone won the first prize, 2nd place Nicademia is an online distribution platform for African Inspired Cartoons and 3rd position went to Accounteer, an online accounting made for entrepreneurs. The successful Startups were rewarded with seed funds.

Mrs. Yetunde Johnson, one of NiRA Board of Directors was amongst the judges. In her remarks, she commended the startups and charged them to innovate products that provide solutions to people’s challenges and as well work business solutions.

NITDA General Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, PhD, in his closing remarks promised that the agency will continue to support and promote Nigeria Startups.
