This eNewsletter is the 123rd and also the last edition in 2017. I say a big thank you to everyone reading our newsletters, we appreciate your support in moving the .ng brand forward. My prayer is that God will bless and reward all our efforts, Amen.
We are now in the yuletide season and it is time to take stock, while being joyous and merry. This is the time of the year to send and receive good wishes. My warmest wishes to all; NiRA Stakeholders, Members, affiliates, Trustees, my fellow Directors and all the supporters of the .ng brand.
The year 2017 was eventful! We started the year with the activities of the ICANN Government Advisory Committee (GAC) for Law Enforcement Agencies, LCCI Organising committee and completed the year with the AFRINIC-27 event that we hosted in Lagos. NiRA’s involvement in all these activities and events were to create and enhance awareness for the .ng brand specifically, and enhance the image of Nigeria within the International Community. The feedbacks are very encouraging.
We did not ignore our primary activity – The growth of Domain name Registrations. We have crossed the 100,000th mark for the .ng domain names registrations. We have consistently been growing at a rate much higher than 75% year-on-year. Now we are on the march towards the 1,000,000th mark, I know we can do this as we aim for this target.
We have had a very busy, resourceful and productive year in 2017. It is time to look forward to the challenges and blessings of 2018.
Let me conclude by using this opportunity to wish all .ng brand promoters the very best of the incoming year 2018. May God in His infinite mercy guide all and grant all success in our activities now and in the future, Amen.
