Though we noted the slow down in fresh registrations and renewal of .ng domain names from October, November to December 2017. The general slow-down could be attributed to many reasons, including consumer spending slowdown and focusing on essentials. The total number of active .ng domain names in December 2016 was 76,907 whilst by December 2017 the number of active domain names has grown to 101,695.
Out of the number of active .ng domain names, 18,717 are .ng domain names registered at the second level. When the number of registered .ng domains exceed 20,0000, the next level of the NIRA Domain price charter will take effect.
