NITDA STARTUP FRIDAY AT UYO, AKWA IBOM STATE

On the 9th of March 2018, National Information Technology Development Agency launched its “Startup Friday” programme at Emerald Event Center Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The “Startup Friday” is a smart gathering for ICT Entrepreneurs to exchange ideas, find support and bridge the seed funding gap in Nigeria. StartUp Friday is aimed at identifying exceptional young brilliant and talented Nigerians with ICT solutions for the Agency to support, promote and better their products & services

This 9th edition tagged “StartupFriday Uyo”, provided an avenue for NITDA through its Director General/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami to further reiterate the Agency’s effort in ensuring proper development and regulation of Information Technology for Sustainable National Development in Nigeria. The DG further disclosed the Agency’s plan to establish Digital Job Centre in Akwa Ibom State. He said the project was part of the FG’s measures to create jobs for Nigeria teeming youths.

At the event, 10 Startups were accorded the opportunity of pitching their solutions to the audience and Budgetier emerged the best. The top three startups received the seed funds to support the continuation and success of the projects. It is worthy of note that the startup that emerged the best had a .ng domain name (budgetier.com.ng).
