NITDA STAKEHOLDER’S REVIEW OF .GOV.NG POLICY

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) held a workshop on Thursday May 31st at NiRA Office Complex, for stakeholders to review the .GOV.NG Policy. The .GOV.NG policy guides and regulates the registration of the .GOV.NG domain names for the MDAs, Federal, State and Local Governments in Nigeria. NITDA used this opportunity to enlighten all on the current policy as well as receive contributions from the related stakeholders on how best to simply the process of registering .gov.ng domain names.

Dr. Vincent Olatunji, DIRECTOR, e-GOVERNMENT DEVELOPMENT AND REGULATION, NITDA, welcomed all to the workshop and gave an overview of the purpose of the workshop. Reverend Sunday Folayan, the President, Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) was at hand to receive Dr. Olatunji and other attendees at the workshop.

Notable contributions were extensively discussed at the workshop. Stakeholders, including NiRA Accredited Registrars were encouraged to submit more contributions, for NITDA and NIRA to prepare a position paper for further assessment by the Federal, States and Local Governments.
