The Computers Professionals [Registration Council] of Nigeria (CPN) of Nigeria hosted the 2018 IT Professionals Assembly at the Abuja International Conference Centre from Wednesday, 20th June to Thursday 21st June, 2018. The theme of the event was tagged ““Professionalism in Information Technology: Past, Present and Future.”
The event which was attended by various dignitaries and Senior Information Technology (IT) officials featured many seasoned speakers in the Information Technology profession.
The 2018 Assembly coincided with the 25th Anniversary of CPN. The IT Professional Assembly was an exclusive networking event for senior Information Technology (IT) decision makers, IT consultants, upcoming IT entrepreneurs, IT practitioners, teachers and IT Systems administrators.
Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the Director General/CEO National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), was ably represented by Dr. Abdullahi Gambo Usman, Director IT Infrastructure Solutions, who highlighted the issues of ICT in Nigeria and called on members of CPN especially its leaders to join hands with NITDA in finding effective ways of addressing these issues.
The Assembly provided opportunities for key players in the industry to examine the roles of IT Professionals in National Development, the impediments in the way, as well as how the potentials of IT Professionals could be harnessed maximally for National Development.
NiRA’s representatives and Accredited Registrars exhibited at the event and provided a platform for participants to engage and register .ng domain names.
