Two major events which NiRA attended in the last few weeks buttressed the need to embrace and support Local cloud hosting providers because of the numerous benefits Nigeria stands to gain. These events were “Data Sovereignty and Harnessing the Power of Cloud” courtesy of VMware and Layer3 at the Hilton Abuja and the International Cybersecurity and Cloud conference tagged “the Business of Cyber Security & Cloud in 21st Century Nigeria” hosted by Comercio Limited in partnership with eFortresses CloudeAssurance & HISPI. The importance of knowledge about Cybersecurity cannot be overemphasized. In November 2019, NiRA will be partnering with Data Scientific to host another Cybersecurity conference at the Sheraton Lagos Hotel on the 2nd of December 2019, to be followed by a two-day security workshop on the 3rd and 4th of December 2019. It is hoped that with all the talk around Cybersecurity, organisations will position themselves better for the Cloud.
I would like to also use this opportunity to encourage all, to transfer their data to a local cloud hosting provider in order to gain the benefits that are associated with utilizing and embracing local cloud hosting provider
As part of our brand awareness and capacity building programs, NiRA would be organising a series of events before the conclusion of the year. These events include the .ng Reseller Entrepreneurship Program and the 2019 Bloggers Summit which would take place on November 13th at the NiRA Office Complex, and on November 26th 2019 in Umuahia, Abia State respectively.
