The National Information Technology Merit Awards (NITMA) is an annual event organized by Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) to acknowledge, celebrate and reward corporate organizations and individuals who
- are committed and outstanding in their various Information Technology (IT) practice,
- have contributed immensely to the development of the profession in Nigeria.
- have valid licenses to practice Information Technology (IT) in Nigeria and are registered with the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Computer Professional Registration Council Of Nigeria (CPN) and Computer Professional Registration Council Of Nigeria (CAC)
The 2019 edition of NITMA held on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, Nigeria. Activities at the event included the Presentation of Awards, conferment of Professional Fellowship which was presented to members who had contributed immensely to the growth of IT in Nigeria, and conferment of Honorary Fellowship which was conferred on outstanding individuals who have distinguished themselves through extraordinary service and commitment to IT growth in Nigeria.
The highlight of the event was the IT personality of the year 2019 award which was contested amongst five nominees out of which Mr. Mitchell Elegbe, Founder/GMD of Interswitch was announced the winner.
