The 2020 edition of the Nigerian School on Internet Governance (NSIG) is scheduled to take place in Abuja, Nigeria. NSIG, convened by the Internet Society (ISOC) Nigeria Chapter, in partnership with other Industry Stakeholders is an effort to build additional Internet Governance capacity within Nigeria.
NSIG helps interested Students, Academics as well as individuals working in the public and private sector to get comprehensive and structured knowledge on Internet governance. It also helps participants to better understand the complexity related to Internet governance and its importance to the future of the Internet.
The 2020 NSIG intensive program will cover core Internet governance issues and will integrate political, legal, economic, socio-cultural, and technological dimensions of Internet governance into a coherent curriculum, focusing on Nigeria, Africa, and the global Internet space.
The school will hold prior to the Nigerian Internet Governance Forum (NIGF) to give participants the practical experience of participation at a National Internet Governance Forum.
Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter, and other industry partners will offer full/partial fellowships to a limited number of applicants to participate in the school. There are laid down criteria to Nigeria residents for the full/partial fellowship.
