It would be stating the obvious if I mentioned here that the year 2020 is the start of a new decade. We all already know this fact and have embraced the available opportunities. The function of time in our lives demands that we remain alert/aware as the days pass by. What should be of interest to everyone in the year 2020 and beyond, is the speed of transformation which technology will bring about.
With the introduction of 5G towards the end of 2019 in some countries, for example, a new dawn of possibilities has been ushered in. Communication will become completely seamless and with this, the Internet of Things will trigger a level of connectivity which never before existed. The speed of connectivity between devices will be faster than you can type your requests in. How prepared is our nation to take advantage of these and other important advancements?
Indeed, Nigeria is not left behind as she begins to revamp her Broadband plan for the next five years, preparing the country’s digital economy for development at the speed of light. It would excite all to know that the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) has been recognised as a key stakeholder, who is pivotal to the Broadband Plan. I am also delighted to represent NiRA on that Committee and I must say that it has been an interesting time so far.
As we enter into an age for which we have been prepared, I invite you to register your personal and corporate identity on .ng and be part of a new digital age.
