The Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) was present at the just concluded Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) that was held in Dubai, UAE, between October 17 – 21, 2021. GITEX is the biggest technology event in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, drawing over 150,000 visitors from 140+ countries.
Nigeria has featured a strong delegation and the country’s pavilion presence through NITDA since 2013 to explore cross-nation deals and collaborations. In the last six years, NITDA has provided strong support for Nigerian start-ups by featuring over 50 start-ups at GITEX Future Stars Pavilion. This year, NITDA did the same through its subsidiary, National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR). The Exhibition offered attendees and start-ups an opportunity to explore and gain new perspectives, explore innovative ideas, expand their networking opportunities through facilitated business meetings, blockbuster showcases and enlightening briefings.
Through the support of NITDA, NiRA sent delegations to this year’s exhibition. NITDA and NiRA’s representatives at the technology showcase included Minister of Communications & Digital Economy, Dr.Isa Ibrahim Pantami, the Chairman Governing Board, Information and Technology Development Agency NITDA, Dr Abubakar Sa’id, Mr. Lawrence Olawale Roberts a board member of NiRA, Chioma Keke, Head, Business Development, NiRA; Dr. Vincent Olatunji, eGovernment Development Agency, NITDA, and the NITDA , amongst others.
