In the last two years, many local, regional and global meetings moved online due to the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The meetings of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) were no different. The Annual General Meetings and Policy Forums have held online since the Pandemic, so the prospect of a hybrid event was a great relief to participants registered to attend the ICANN 74 Policy Forum holding at The Hague, Netherlands. According to the ICANN Board, it was a welcome chance to again meet in-person with members of the ICANN Community.
This is the 74th edition of The Policy Forum, which typically holds in June, and is dedicated to the policy development work of the Supporting Organizations & Advisory Committees (SO/ACs), as well as ICANN’s regional outreach activities.
The Policy meeting which ends on the 16th of June 2022, held at the iconic World Forum from the 13th of June 2022. It would be recalled that a former member of the NiRA Executive Board, Mr Adebiyi Oladipo, is the representative of .ng on the Council of the country code Name Supporting Organisation (ccNSO). He currently acts as Vice-Chairperson of the Council. The .ng Registry was represented in-person by a Member of the Executive Board, Mr. Adesola Akinsanya as well as NiRA’s Chief Operating Officer, Mrs Eyitayo Iyortim and the Head, Corporate Services, Mrs Busayo Balogun.
