President Speech

As I mentioned in my manifesto, collaborations are at the core of NiRA’s strategy to drive the adoption of the .ng domain and increase stakeholder engagement. We’ve been actively forming strategic alliances with key players in the digital arena.

As dedicated stakeholders within the Nigerian Internet community, NiRA recognizes the utmost importance of strategic dialogues in propelling the growth and inclusivity of our digital landscape. One such significant event was the Nigerian Internet Governance Forum (NIGF), where NiRA was the Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) chair. The forum was held in Abuja from September 13th to 14th, 2023, and it stands as a testament to the value we place on fostering an inclusive and thriving internet community.

This event was marked by its inclusivity, with a specific focus on amplifying the voices of youth and women within our internet ecosystem. Their participation and contributions are pivotal in steering our digital future towards growth and greater inclusivity. Alongside the main event on September 14th, 2023, the forum hosted the Women Internet Governance Forum and the Youth Internet Governance Forum on September 13th, 2023. These forums provided a platform for recognizing and celebrating the vital roles these groups play in shaping the Internet landscape of our nation.

We are truly grateful for the nominations we’ve received for the 6th .NG Awards from organizations that play a significant role in shaping the Nigerian internet landscape. The voting portal has officially opened, and the complete list of nominees for each category is now accessible through the portal. We urge the public to actively participate by casting their votes to demonstrate support for these exceptional nominees.

Our commitment to helping businesses, organizations, and individuals leverage the .ng domain to enhance their online presence remains unwavering. An excellent example of this is our partnership with Innovation Support Network, where we fostered engagement regarding the adoption of the .ng domain by MSMEs and startups to enhance online presence and brand visibility.

NiRA remains steadfast in cultivating digital innovation and nurturing Nigeria’s internet ecosystem. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support, which propels the growth and eminence of the .ng domain brand.

Warm Regards,

Adesola Akinsanya

The President of NiRA
