The month of October commemorates Nigeria’s Independence, and 2022 is the 62nd Anniversary of the same. We celebrate our past heroes’ diligence, discipline, and hard work, which were influential in gaining us the right to self-governance. As we forge ahead in the hope of a better future, we pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in our nation.
I wish to thank everyone who attended the 10th edition of the annual Nigeria Internet Governance Forum (NIGF 2022) this past month at “The Zone Center”, in Lagos. It was a remarkable convergence of digital transformation enthusiasts, Information, Communication, and Technology industry leaders, government representatives, business community members, and the fourth estate. The deliberations centered around the theme “Advancing Digital Transformation and Trust in Nigeria”. We witnessed increased participation of multistakeholder-led organizations, as well as the youth. We look forward to more collaborations, effective policy advocacy, and the impact of these efforts on the development of Nigeria’s digital economy.
NiRA was represented at the Africa DNS Forum which was held between the 3rd and 7th of October 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya. This year marks the Forum’s 10th anniversary, which was hosted by the Kenya Network Information Centre (KENIC). NiRA keeps abreast of the latest developments and issues in the global domain name ecosystem by engaging with stakeholders from various sectors across Africa and the world.
NiRA is excited to have been recognised for its efforts with Recognition for its outstanding contribution to the DNS industry in Africa. This award is dedicated to the hard work of the NiRA Team and our esteemed Registrars. I congratulate us all!
As we head towards the end of 2022, we will continue to strategically position .ng to increase awareness. We are guided by a sound understanding of where we are going having no doubts that we will accomplish our year-end goals.
