Dear valued readers, I am delighted to connect with you once again through this edition of our newsletter. It gives me great pleasure to share my thoughts and updates with all of you. Last month, I expressed my hopes for our collective journey toward achieving digital excellence, and I believe we are on the right track.
First and foremost, I extend a warm welcome to the new members of the Executive Board of Directors who recently attended their onboarding program. They also joined their first Board meeting this month. Their expertise and dedication will undoubtedly strengthen our association and contribute to the advancement of the .ng domain brand, fostering a thriving digital ecosystem.
In our ongoing efforts to promote the widespread adoption of the .ng domain, we have engaged in pivotal meetings with key stakeholders. Notably, we had enlightening discussions with the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). These engagements are crucial in exploring effective approaches for these esteemed associations to embrace the .ng domain, aligning with the national second-level domain policy mandated by the Federal government. The discussions centred around implementation strategies and emphasized the significant benefits of leveraging the .ng domain to enhance online presence and credibility. These collaborations exemplify our role as custodians of this critical resource, working towards advancing a thriving internet ecosystem for all Nigerians.
Aligned with global trends, it is evident that embracing digitalization is the way forward. Developed economies have demonstrated the immense benefits of this transformation. While we strongly advocate for Nigerians to support local hosting of websites as a means to reduce capital flight, we will also contribute our quota by hosting trainings and programs which promote local hosting.
As we approach the end of the second quarter, I look forward to the next half of the year with great enthusiasm. Together, we will continue to drive digital excellence, foster innovation, and create a thriving digital ecosystem in Nigeria.
