The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Information Communication Technology and Telecommunication (ICTEL) Expo held from the 31st of August to the 1st of September 2022 at the MUSON Center. This was the 8th edition and tagged as the leading tech conference and exhibition event in West Africa. The 2022 ICTEL EXPO with the theme “Ensuring efficient Digital Infrastructure in Nigeria” was a platform for all stakeholders (Brand Executives, Founders & Entrepreneurs, Government & Trade Agencies, Academics & Researchers, Investors, Venture Capitalists, and Tech Start-Ups) with a purpose to engage in robust discussions aimed at directing the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.
Speaking during the event in his opening remarks, the President of the LCCI, Michael Olawale-Cole, emphasised that it would be a monumental achievement if Nigeria got her digital infrastructure right as it would be beneficial to the nation’s ICT and Telecommunication sectors and the government’s Digital Economy agenda. Other ICT stakeholders at the conference called for the advancement of Nigeria’s digital infrastructure through adequate multi-sectoral investments to accommodate the country’s rapidly growing digital economy. Delegates from the Nigeria Internet Registration Association were Mrs. Busayo Balogun – Head, Corporate Services, accompanied by the Content Officer Mr. Modebayo Akingbemila. NiRA’s participation at this year’s ICTEL EXPO is part of the ongoing consolidation of efforts by the Registry in positioning itself to partner with ICT industry stakeholders toward the growth of Nigeria’s Digital Economy.
