During the recent NiRA Accredited Registrars Forum which held on Wednesday the 7th of December 2022 at the Oriental Hotel Lagos, the NiRA President thanked Registrars for their consistency and enumerated some of the decisions made by the Executive Board implemented by the .ng Secretariat to drive the continued growth of the .ng domain brand. The price slash of the .ng domains that was introduced on the 1st of March 2022 was an incentive to drive additional growth of .ng domain name registrations. There was also the domain review of Premium Domain Prices to further encourage their uptake. The message at the Forum has remained consistent; Accredited Registrars are encouraged to develop creative strategies which can lead to increased adoption of the .ng domain name extension. Our task at NiRA is to be unrelenting in building robust technical and administrative structures that support the needs of the Accredited Registrars and the millions of businesses and individuals in cyberspace. The NiRA President expressed his gratitude to the Accredited Registrars as well as other NiRA Stakeholders who were present at the event which was the first in-person Forum since the COVID – 19 pandemic, for their invaluable contributions. We look forward to many more engagements with our Registrars in the future.
