NiRA RECEIVES STUDENTS FROM ANCHOR UNIVERSITY

On Wednesday, 20th July 2022, the students of Anchor University paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA). This is in line with the institution’s objective of raising exceptional leaders through an IT-driven outcome-based learning approach.

The contingent comprised of students from the Department of Computer Science, Information Technology, and Mathematics and they benefited from the robust experience of engaging with the staff of the NiRA Secretariat. The Head of Technical Services, Mr. Nonso Udechukwu, while speaking to the students explained that the IT industry is dynamic and entrepreneurial, and that the initiative to expose students to the work environment was laudable. He elaborated upon various aspects of I.T such as Design, Development, Support, Hardware/Software engineering, and System Integration. The students were informed about the activities of the .ng Registry and given a brief introduction to the Domain Name System. During the sessions with various members of the NiRA team, the students were advised to practice reflective thinking and creative problem-solving as it would help them take ownership of the learning and maximise the experiences gained.
