I am delighted to share some exciting updates from NiRA as we continue our efforts to drive the penetration of the .ng domain and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s digital space.
Firstly, I must highlight the crucial role of accredited registrars in our ecosystem. Acting as a vital bridge between the registry and registrants, they play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the .ng domain. To this end, we recently conducted our Q1 training for NiRA accredited registrars’ applicants. This comprehensive training aimed to equip them with a deep understanding of the registry’s operations and the critical role they play in facilitating seamless interactions between us and our users.
Moreover, in commemoration of International Women’s Day, NiRA organized an enlightening Twitter Spaces session. This platform provided industry experts with the opportunity to shed light on women’s journey in the tech space, celebrate their remarkable contributions, and elevate the .ng domain brand. This initiative not only celebrated the achievements of women in the tech and ICT industry but also underscored NiRA’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity in the Nigerian digital space.
Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate our 16th Annual General Meeting scheduled for April 26th, 2024. This gathering is a crucial forum for reflection, assessment, and strategic planning. During the AGM, the Association’s executive board of directors, board of trustees, and members will engage in insightful discussions to shape NiRA’s journey in our ever-evolving digital landscape. We will reflect on the accomplishments of the past year, evaluate our progress toward our goals, and chart a course for the future.
