As we reflect on the dynamic journey of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) throughout this year, we take pride in sharing the significant strides we have made in shaping Nigeria’s digital landscape and promoting excellence within the .ng domain brand.

Our commitment to innovation and the pivotal role of the .ng domain has been underscored by remarkable growth, fueled by impactful collaborations that have driven meaningful change in the Nigerian internet ecosystem.

The recently concluded 6th .NG Awards stand as a testament to our dedication to celebrating impactful contributions and outstanding innovations that shape Nigeria’s evolving internet space. Beyond recognition, these awards actively promote the .ng brand, significantly contributing to the growth of our nation’s internet landscape. The nomination and voting processes were open to the public through the official website, ensuring a transparent and independent selection of winners.

I would like to congratulate the nineteen (19) organizations that emerged winners in the General Awards Category, including HIIT PLC, Sterling Bank, Jumia Nigeria, Sycamore, Nigeria Communications Commission, Web4Africa, Nest Hub, Aladdin Digital, Guardian, amongst others. The Presidential Awards acknowledged sixteen (16) individuals and organizations actively supporting NiRA’s growth and playing a crucial role in the development of our digital landscape. Active collaboration remains at the core of NiRA’s endeavors. Recently, the .NG Academy, a special purpose vehicle (SPV)of NiRA in partnership with the Faculty of Education at the University of Lagos, is currently organizing training in Data Science. This aligns seamlessly with our goal of developing professionals in digital technology for Africa, highlighting our unwavering commitment to continuous growth and innovation.

Nurturing the future of our digital space, another special purpose vehicle (SPV), the Ndukwe Kalu Foundation (NKF), organized a Child Online Protection Summit in Abuja on Thursday 23rd November 2023. The summit brought together stakeholders to discuss effective strategies for ensuring a safer and secure online space for our children.

As we witness the collective progress we have achieved, it reflects the resilience and commitment of the NiRA community. Our journey this year has been one of positive impact in the digital space, and as we continue our engagements, we look forward to even greater strides.

Thank you for being an integral part of NiRA’s success story.
