Strengthening Nigeria’s Digital Ecosystem Through Collaboration

We had a productive meeting with Dr. Vincent Olatunji, the National Commissioner, to discuss the pressing need for enhanced data privacy and protection across the nation.

Our conversation underscored NiRA’s proactive steps in this area, including training over 130 accredited registrars on compliance and domain abuse issues and equipping them with knowledge on the fundamentals of data protection. Ensuring the .ng domain ecosystem remains secure and resilient is a top priority for u.

Promoting Digital Talent Through the .ng Academy

I am particularly proud of the strides made by the .ng Academy this year. As a platform for nurturing talent, the .ng Academy successfully hosted the Tech Career Outlook 2025. This event brought together seasoned experts from various fields to discuss AI opportunities in Africa, sustainable job creation, and how emerging technologies are shaping the future of work.

The Academy continues to equip participants with future-proof skills, positioning them for success in Nigeria’s dynamic digital economy.

Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, NiRA remains committed to empowering Nigerian businesses and internet users to thrive in the digital age. We will continue to foster collaborations, drive digital literacy, and champion data protection and cybersecurity. The .ng Academy will remain a key pillar for capacity development, helping Nigerians tap into the digital economy’s endless opportunities.
